To the west a pathway takes you over the river Irlam inlet ( old course ) and you can walk along the canal over to Irlam Locks. To the east a pathway I am told takes you all the way to barton bridge. North the pathway leads through the industrial estate to the dual cariagway. A short walk along the carriagway leads you to a lane by the lay by leading to chat moss and open countryside, popular with bird watchers Chat Moss
