The Hulmes free Ferry was established in 1885 by an act of parliament making the Manchester Ship Canal owners responsible for providing a free ferry to replace a low lying bridge that had to be demolished to allow access for tall ships up the canal. It is still operating to this day( 2015 ). See its history here. And a discusion of its future click here. |

Note: After they couldnt make sanctions stick ( 186,000 in salford alone ) they resorted to 'Civil Liberties Charges' in which you are neither innocent until proven guilty ( english law ) nor guilty until proven innocent( American law ), you are just guilty with no redress to any court or tribunal and are forced to give your reason for your guilty actions. In my case a 'claimed' form was not handed in in time. I asked which form and what was its timescale so that I could give the reason for my wrongdoing. ... I never got an answer to this question but they are not required to answer. |
